Atari has announced a new movement-game similar to "Wii Fit". "Family Trainer" includes a lot of minigames and was designed for the whole family. With the new controller-mat you can play all kinds of different activitys like wildwater-rafting, tree-trunk jump or skipping cozy in front of your tv.

Sony pulls PS3 Firmware 2.40
Yesterday, Sony released the new Firmware 2.40 Update. After it broke some consoles, Sony decided to recall PS3 Firmware. The Patch will not be re-released until it has been fixed properly. In some cases the installation process of the new firmware could not be finished and the PS3 was unable to boot afterwards. If this happens, a reparation is necessary. We will see...

New version of PS2
In spite of the succesful sales start of the PS3, the PS2 is not dead yet. Sony has worked out a new version of the PS2 which was already released in Japan 2007. The new PS2 has some new feauters but the most important is definetly the integrated power supply. An official release date for Europe has yet to be announced.

Diablo 3 - only for PC
To all Diablo-Lovers, the massacre will continue on the PC. But a Console-Porting is not impossible. According to Blizzards COO Paul Sams the question is if it's possible to adobt the controls from the keyboard over to a regular gamepad without any losses. The Gameplay is the most important thing, says Sams. Still, pretty much Fans are still dissatisfied. If you ask the community many say that the game looks to coluorful and reminds of "World of Warcraft". A "Retro-Diablo-3" petition has been launched in the internet.

Standalone-Addon for Galactic Civilization 2 announced
The Universe is endless, almost like Galactic Civilization 2: Endless Universe. This is the name of the standalone-Addon which Kalypso Media has chosen. This package includes 2 other gameversions which you can play without the original version of the game. One of them is Galactic Civilization 2: Dark Avatar and the other one is Galactic Civilization 2: Twilight of the Arnor. In Dark Avatar they implemented a new campaign and in Twilight of the Arnor they optimized the graphics and all the 12 main-races have a new technology-tree. The game will probable hit shelves by the end of August this year.

Killzone 2 plays on the planet Helghan, which is divided in different areas and on which live the Helghast. They can control the weather and of course there are many other features, which however are still a secret. Templar, who could be controlled in Killzone, becomes colonel in the sequel and takes control of the spaceship New Sun. Killzone 2 will appear in February 2009 for PlayStation 3.

According to Laurent Detoc from Ubisoft North America there is currently no continuation of Assassin's Creed planed. But that does not mean that there will not be one in future. Left 4 Dead - release date
According to Mike Booth from Valve, "Left 4 Dead" will be released on November 4th for the PC and the XBOX 360. "Left 4 Dead" is all about shooting zombies and seek shelter, just like in all those zombie-movies out there. In the final version you will be able to play in a coop-mode with up to three friends.

GTA 4 - Patch released
Even the best games are getting patched. In this case it's "GTA 4". The patch takes care of several issues in the multiplayer-mode, like freezes and bugs experienced in the lobby or during an online-session. Furthermore some changes on the game in general were made. Now even the loser of a street-race gets 250 dollars as a consolation prize, for example.

Antitrust Agency is bugging Take-Two
Take-two has to go to the U.S. Antitrust Agency for a hearing. As Electronic Arts is trying to take over Take-Two, Take-Two has been reproached to hold back necessary data for an inspection of a probable Monopoly situation within the sports game industry. Although the last edition "ProStreet" has been more of a disappointment, EA's gonna give the Need for Speed series another try for an outstanding game. Square-Enix presents three new RPG's
The XBOX 360 RPG Premiere event just took place in Tokio. Square-Enix seized the chance and presented three new titles for the XBOX 360. The first title is "Last Remnant", coming for the XBOX 360 in Winter and later on for the PS3. "Infinite Undiscovery" is another title coming out by the beginning of september as an XBOX 360-exclusive. The final and probably the most anticipated game is "Star Ocean 4: The Last Hope" hitting shelves in 2009. It isn't clear yet if the game is only coming for the XBOX 360. We will keep you updated.

Gears of War 2 - new info
Gears of War 2 will most definetly be a topseller, when it finally gets released for the XBOX 360 in November 2008. Up to ten players will fight against each other online. Besides the multiplayer-modes 'Meatflag' (CTF) and 'Guardian' (an alternative to the assassination-mode) you will be able to "share" a character with your friend in the 'Wingman'-mode. We're curious how this will work.

New infos on Gears 2
According to EPIC, the focus in Gears 2 is on the coop part of the game. Even unexperiend players should be able to play in co-op mode . Therefore it should be possible, that the host plays the game on hard difficulty, while the player who joins the game, can play it on easy. We're curious how that will work in ....

Mixed firmware on PS3
A hacker succesfully installed a debug firmware ond the PS3. After the installation of the debug-firmware he installed a 'normal' firmware to unlock the blue-ray functions of the PS3. We are getting closer and closer to the ultimate PS3-hack. We will keep you updated.

Drakensang - Beta sing-up
Heroes better pay attention. There is a brandnew beta sign-up formular on the official website of the upcoming RPG "The Dark Eye: Drakensang". The hundred people chosen, can play the game long time before the official release in July 2008.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed - no MP?!
That's right. The next-gen versions of Activisions "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed" won't have a multiplayer mode. That's kind of strange, since the versions for Sonys PSP and Nintenods DS, as well as the Wii, will come along with multiplayer-functions.

New Prince of Persia to be released in 2008
Now that's some good news before the weekend. The newest installment in the Prince of Persia-series will be released in 2008. The game will have Cel-Shading-Graphics and probably be released by the name "PoP: Prodigy" or "PoP: Heir Apparent".

Within the last few months, many people started feeling like a new firmware gets released everytime they turn on their PS3. Guess what, a new firmware has just been released! On one hand, firmware 2.35 makes some games run smoother and better. On the other hand, nobody knows which games are affected and what other improvements the update brings.

GTA 4 - it's a new record!
Even the Master Chief or Harry Potter are no match for Niko Bellic, the main character in GTA 4. The game was sold 3.6 million times in the first 24 hours and over 6 million times globaly in the week of its release. That's 500 million dollars revenues in the first week and an entry in the Guinness Book of World Records.

According to Tomonobu Itagaki from Team Ninja 'Ninja Gaiden 2' will be the last game of the series. Itagaki thinks that they have reached everything they wanted with the franchise and that 'Ninja Gaiden 2' will be the ultimate Ninja Gaiden exeperience.

Burnout Paradise - Update "Cagney"
In June Criterion will release another update for their racing-pearl 'Burnout: Paradise'. The update named "Cagney" will bring new cars and liveries, new Freeburn Game Modes, more challenges and many fixes. Furthermore it will be possible to listen to your own music while playing the game on the PS3. Criterion has even overworked the Ranked Races mode in almost every aspect.

Fable 2 - new infos
According to the developers, the world of Fable 2 will be about 20 to 30 times bigger than the original world in the first Fable. You will have 8 magic spells in Fable 2, which you can upgrade over a 5-level-system. With a GPS-like system you will be able navigate trough the virtual world and buy almost every house and building you come across.

Tony Hawk - Break untill 2010
Every Year one or more Tony Hawk skateboarding-games are getting released. The skateboarders, gameplay-mechanics and tricks are often the same as in the previous game. Usually the games came along with a few new features like a Story-Mode, the "Nail-the-Trick"-feature or some new mini-games. After several years and many Tony Hawk-games the changes are shrinking. That's why Activision to take a break. They are in need for a breakthrough and it seems that one year is not enough for that.

Right after Call of Duty 4 broke the records on Online-Multiplayer-Mode, everyones talking about Call of Duty 5. Even a release date is in sight. The game will be released in march 2009. The game probably won't take place in WW2 after all, as everyone assumed.

Mortal Kombat VS DC Universe - with finisher
In the fifth part of the MK-series, the heroes from the DC universe will fight against the Mortal Kombat cast. The developers were facing a hard decision: Batman ripping heads off or a Mortal Kombat without any fatalities. They decided to abdicate the fatalities. The fans went mad and crazy. Creator Ed Boon reacted. Instead of brutal fatalities there will be really amazing looking finisher-moves. We are curios.

Doom 4 - announced
Out of the blue, ID Software announced that they are on the development of Doom 4. What we know is, that it will probably be a single-person-horror-shooter and that they are employing people specialized on XBOX360 and the PS3. More news will follow. They are still at the start of the development.

THQ is terminating jobs.
THQ didn't announced a new game, but they announced that they will lose some employees. Reasons being, redeployments, bad numbers from last year, and they will lower down the number of employees that are working in the section for PS2. They want to focus on the Next-Gen. About 200 employees have got to leave. But still there is an announcement that they want to grow until the end of the Year, from 2400 employees to 2700.

XBOX360 - Another Edition
Blue-Ray drive, and now a new chip. There are really a lot of rumors out there. One of them is about a new edition of the XBOX360 with new chips. The "Jasper", the codename of it, shall be bases on the 65nm technology. Thanks to this, the chips shall produce less heat, lower electricity use and the XBOX360 will be less noisy. Officially, this is not yet confirmed.
